Van Finance With No Accounts for UK limited companies

Van finance before your first accounts are filed

At Van Finance Limited we arrange vehicle finance for UK limited companies. We are specialists in used van finance, and we place deals across a panel of trusted UK lenders. Newly formed companies, first-year businesses, established fleets. All treated as real cases with real answers.

We fund amounts from £10,000 to £500,000. New or used vans, single vehicles or a full fleet. This page is for limited companies with no filed accounts yet, either brand-new or pre first year-end. It covers what actually happens in that scenario, why the high street tends to say no, and how we go about placing the deal on your behalf.

Assessing a company without accounts

When there are no accounts to read, specialist lenders look at the director’s credit and experience, bank statements, the deposit and the van as security. Many of our panel are comfortable lending on this basis.

The lender is essentially asking two questions in a different order. Who is the director, and how does the business actually earn? Once those are answered honestly, a company with no year-end behind it is not the black hole a computer says it is. There is a real profile to underwrite, just not a Companies House-shaped one.

What the underwriter is really looking for is coherence. Do the bank statements match the story? Does the director have experience in the trade? Are the numbers we are being asked to fund proportionate to what is coming in? That check is quick to run when the picture is honest, and painful when it is not. So a short, straight description of the business does more work than three pages of hedging.

What substitutes for filed accounts

Underwriters typically build the picture from a handful of practical inputs that give the same signal a set of accounts would.

  • The director’s personal credit and experience in the trade.
  • Business bank statements once the account is open.
  • Management figures or a simple month-by-month view of turnover.
  • A deposit or a director’s personal guarantee where the file needs it.
  • The van itself as security. Age, mileage and residual value all count.

How we place the deal

Every enquiry starts with a soft search that does not affect your credit score. From there we take the shape of the deal to lenders on our panel who make a habit of working with newer companies. The full application is usually a smaller pack than you would expect: director ID, address, bank statements, the van, and a brief note on trading.

Most no-accounts deals settle into hire purchase, which is straightforward for the lender to underwrite and gets you owning the van at the end. A director’s personal guarantee is often what carries a thin file over the line. If you are also brand-new, this page pairs with newly formed limited company finance.

What to have ready

You do not need a filing cabinet, but a tidy short pack helps the underwriter say yes quickly. If the account has only been open a few weeks, that is fine — just tell us. Our documents guide has the full list.

  • Director ID and proof of address.
  • Business bank statements from the day the account opened.
  • A management view of turnover, or expected turnover if pre-trading.
  • Any signed contracts or repeat client work that supports the picture.
  • The van, or the make, model and budget if you are still choosing.

Honest about the risks

Not every no-accounts case places. When the trading picture is very early or the deposit does not fit the deal, sometimes the honest answer is “wait three months” rather than force it. We would rather say that than rush an application that goes nowhere. All finance is subject to status and eligibility, and applying does not oblige you to proceed.

FAQs

Straight answers to the questions we hear most, on eligibility, credit checks and how the process works.

How much can you finance?
We finance vehicle amounts from £10,000 to £500,000. We specialise in used van finance for UK limited companies, and we can arrange new van finance and fleet finance too, from single vans through to multiple vehicles at once. All finance is subject to status.
Can I finance a van before my first accounts are filed?
Often yes. See also new limited company finance. The director and the van usually carry the deal. Subject to status.
What documents do you need?
Usually director ID, proof of address and any bank statements. Our documents guide has the full list.
Will management accounts help?
Yes. A simple month-by-month view of turnover and typical outgoings, prepared by you or your accountant, gives the underwriter the profile a set of filed accounts would. It does not have to be pretty; it does have to be accurate.
